Hedgehog Maintenance

So  I got a really good question on the BLOG & I wanted to give you guys some answers

"OK, I just gotta ask. How is it like having a Hedgehog as a pet?
Can you talk about it more when you have time? I'm so curious! LOL!"

Abbey is really easy to take care of :)
she sleeps all morning and doesn't wake up till evening around 7 or 8 in the evening

I'm going to give you a tour of Abbeys pad :)
I recently cutesy'd it up

{I bought 4 for $1.00 wooden fences from Michaels & painted it white}



drew in the crack details & added some Prima flowers

Im also making a "home sweet home sign"



Inside Abbeys house is this softwood bedding
I purchased mine at PETCO
Its naturally absorbent & helps control odor

Abbey usually only poops on one corner and then she covers it up...
so when its time to clean out her house its super easy
I just dump all the wood in the garbage and put new ones :)

Abbey LOVES the smell of the wood
everytime she gets new bedding she gets BUBBLY {literally}
she foams around the mouth...
{no worries its a good thing it means she likes it}



*note* when I clean Abbeys house I usually let her roam on the floor & not the carpet
CUZ Abbey is my little pooping machine and I've learned my lesson...

whenever I change her bedding she also gets a new Blankie
cuz Abbey likes to hide



Abbey likes to eat Cat food she usually eats whatever Earl & Molly are eating

shes really easy to maintain and she SO CUTE!
shes so use to a human touch now that she rarely puts her spikes up anymore
only when she gets startled :)

All this Hedgie talk motivated me to use my new critter paper to make a card :)



details:

I made my own hedgie template & cut it out on Bazzill paper
I used American Crafts brad for her nose
and Making Memories Brad for her eyes
I went a little crazy & cut out all the trees & flowers





I love this Imaginisce  twitterpated collection

I used the blue skies as the background
and I cut out all the little trees mushroom and flowers from these 2 papers

Chrissy/SU Party

I felt sick this weekend
I couldnt get up Saturday morning
I was so tired....
I bummed around the whole day
BUT I had to go out tonight cuz I had an apt to get my taxes done
and now I cant stop coughing!
UGH Chicago weather :(

I'm scrambling to get last minute stuff for my party tonight
this week went by so quickly!
{so this is going to be a short post}

Anyway, heres my FRIDAY Layout
lately I've been Loving the color Gray it was also my "winter" color



I used this Gazebo paper from SEI's Bridgeport line



and this Something new paper from Cosmo Cricket's Everafter line







The ruler border is actually an edge on one of the papers from Making Memories Chloes Closet

and seriously these Marrakech die cut chipboard stickers from Basic grey is AWESOME!
they add such a detailed touch to your pages and all you had to do is stick it on :)

I cant believe how fast this week went by
HOLY MOLY :)

and TRAVEL like were 23 again..."

we backpacked through EUROPE for like a month
I don't even have that much vacation days at work!
So I told her shell just have to settle for a week vacation instead hahaha

Scrappy Weekend

I'm back from my scrapping weekend at Scrap Inn
I had such a good time.
I don't even remember the last time
I went away on a scrapbooking weekend!
I felt really productive I usually never get anything accomplished at these events :)

On a sad note....
I stayed in the attic at Scrap Inn
and my bladders so small I always wake up in the middle of the night
to use the bathroom...
anyway the bathroom was on the 2nd floor
so I used my phone to light my way down the attic steps
{NOT a good IDEA}
this is what happened :(

BOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo!!!!!
I dropped it on the tile!
UGH I went to Apple today and pretty much my warranty only covered software
SO FRUSTRATING
It's going to cost 300 to fix it

I'm actually contemplating if its worth fixing for 300!
The break didn't affect is function so it works just fine.
I'm just so frustrated with myself for not being careful.

Anyway
I'm not really ready for Monday to come along yet
I'm hoping to get some good sleep in my own bed tonight!

ivys past 2 weeks

I got an email today from my friend Glo all it said was:
"Hi Ivy, Did you give up blogging for lent?"
LOL
that was my QUE to post I suppose...
I cant believe it's already been 2 weeks since my last post
I'm Traveling between my schools right now & I'm so
swamped by the time I come home my brains fried.
So sorry...

Anyway I do have some picz to share
of what I've been up to the past couple of weeks

This Sunday I did some cleaning around the scraproom
cuz I was no longer able to see my desk or my carpet
I've moved to scrapping in the upstairs hallway {LOL}

I still have some more tidying up to do BUT at least
I can see the floor and I can maybe sit on my sad chair and scrap on the table now...

After cleaning I got to relax a little bit and read my new CK Mag
{dont mind my little Toezies}
I bought new bedding for the guestroom bed from Target


Oooooh I got new polish to share
Alpine snow & Princesses rule={MY NEW FAVORITE}
I used a black striper for the zebra design :)


 
I also made a card for one of my students who got in to a really bad car accident
I felt so bad because she was SO excited about school & now because of her accident she had to stop so that she could take some time to get better :(

I don't think I mentioned that recently a dear scrapping friend of mine {Ann} passed away
and the 27th was her memorial...
Ann worked with me when I worked at Archivers
anyway a lot of us became friends through A's & most of us have kept in touch
It was really nice to see the girls at Anns Memorial
heres a pic of the group :)

I feel so blessed to have met SO many friends through our passion for this craft
 

speaking of friends......
I CANT TELL you how many times I've recieved a friendship bread starter....
YET I've never made one!
so the other day my boss asks me
"Ivy would you like a friendship bread starter"
I answer {1/2 kidding & 1/2 serious}
"NO thanks I would like a friendship bread FINISHED though"
{LOL}
so the next day she came to work with.....

a finished friendship bread for me FOR REAL!
It's so YUMMY!
I didnt think it was going to be sweet desserty kinda bread
I thought it was gonna be like......toast type of bread :)
I liked it so MUCH Im planning to ATTEMPT to make a bunch more :)

I'm pretty bad at cropping away from home cuz I NEVER bring
the right thing I need
does that happen to anybody else or is it just me
cuz I'm terrible at planning projects?
