Woot Woot for F R I D A Y S!!!

I'm so excited that its FRIDAY!!!

I'm FINALLY getting together with a couple friends to catch up :)

We've planned a get together for a couple months now BUT everyone

just had so much going on, we had to keep rescheduling.

We're going to Praga Restaurant 

"stuffed pear with Gorgonzola" makes me drool right now!

I'm REALLY looking forward to the end of my work day today ;)

With that said I have a couple of WOOT WOOT cards to share!

Its for my two of my Bloggie friends who just adores OWLS!

I found these cute stickers & immediately thought of them ;)

I'm sure they received the cards by now (so it's ok to share now)

Aren't these owls so adorable?

They we're actually easy to cut even though they had multiple pieces

 

I used a PS Linear A7 envelope enclosure card to cover

 

So I can put these cuties inside :)

Quick Cards

Since I've been recently reacquainted with some

of my long lost embellishments

& I needed a bunch of cards for several occasions

I decided to make some quick cards using the same layout.

Base of the cards is this STUDY HALL paper I found at TM for 1.99 :)

and my fave SU die

First up is card I made for one of my students

who recently unexpectedly found out that shes prego w/h her 4th baby

what a SWEET surprise

and this one is for friend who recently got a new job offer

and I'm so HAPPY for her to start her new endeavor!

I LOVE the detail on these KI softies :)

I used PINK DC floss to sew it on to the felt flower

 

These are for a couple students who made some life changes

so that they can START & focus on school. I'm just so HAPPY for them :)

I really like putting Initials or monograms on cards

I feel like it's more personal, don't you?

and this one (one of my FAVES)

is for Ms mom it's her B-day this coming Monday :)

The scallops are scraps from this Sticky Stax border

from my B-day make & take 

I think the value of what you get in the sticky stax are totally worth it

(even more worth it w/h a coupon @ J's or M's)

and it's so quick & easy to use :) I love 'em I gotta buy more actually :)

Embellishment Organization

Ahhhhh!!!!

The thought of even starting to organize my Embellishments scares the bageeberz outta me

cuz theres just soooooooooo much stuff

it blows my mind & I can't focus.

I wish I had some before & afters

but I only have pics of afters cuz I didn't really have a "home"

for a lot of them before, they we're just in the original packaging.

Lets start with these clear boxes

Whats inside you ask?

 

Inside are little Dritz Stackable Snap Boxes

They hold all sorts of different embellishments

Like these are some American crafts Goodies

It was able to hold atleast a 2-3 packages of the Vinyl & paper flowers

3-4 packages of the Flairs

 

Some KI :) I was able to put 5 packages of Jellies in to one bin

some HS hearts (my faves)

I LOVE these stackables its almost deceiving how much stuff it holds

and I can just pull one of the clear boxes & inside holds a ton of different embellishments

that is sorted.

I have an embellishment cabinet also

It's filled with a LOT of flowers & hardware....

 

I also keep some of my flowers seperated in ZIP Locks :)

I just cant get rid of those forever flower jars!

 

Here are a gabajillions hardwares

(that I always forget about)

These Making Memories Sortables are one of MY FAVORITE storage solutions!

 I sorted some of the boxes

and categorized them together

LIKE for example SMALL brads

If I need some....I can just grab these 2 bins

& I'll have 50 million of them to pick from! LOL :)

 

or these cutie patootie Doodlebug sequins :)

 

& different color & shape Paperclips

I also have A LOT of alphabets

I did organize them in THIS

 

BUT since the back of it also has some space for storage

 

when I flipped it over some of the alphas

got mixed in to other ones

so ONLY the bigger letters are still in place :(

I'm afraid to tackle this one

& I dont have a new plan in mind how to re-organize this box yet

soooooooo.....we're just gonna put that aside for now :)

I do have more storage pics to share BUT

I'll have to make another post I didnt realize its already past 12:30

& I still have work tomorrow!

YIKES!

Muffies <3'em

SOOOOOOO Muffies are my NEW fave I think :)

I always get the Choc Chip ones from Panera! YUM! (although its 270 cal)

I attempted to make own

without a MUFFIE pan cuz for the life of me I CANNOT

find one in the store(s).

If anyone knows any stores locally that carry them

please do share the info!

I just used a regular Choc Chip Muffin Mix

 

I did add some MORE Ghirardelli chocs (my L<3ves)

 

I still sprayed some non stick oil to my non stick pan

don't ask why LOL

 

I went off of THIS for baking instructions

Bake at 425 and Bake 7 to 9 minutes or until edges and tops begin to brown.

Cool 1 minute before removing from cookie sheet.

 I have to say

these bite size cuties were extra deliciousness :)

I would have preferred for the chocs to have melted a lil more

BUT it was still YUMMY YUMMY in my tummy

Abbeys Napping place

Just sharing some pics of my LiL Stubborn but precious monster Abbey...

and indeed she took a nap

I could not get her to come out

I even placed my boot in her house to prompt her to come out

but that didn't work either

she's so stubborn!

I was afraid she was gonna pee in there

My dad worked his magic & got her out eventually

BUT she definitely did not surrender all on her own.  

That's my LiL monster Abbey for ya :)

DIY Planner {Part 2}

OK so Part 2

we'll start with the Binding

Some of the supplies I used

LIQUITEX my new BFForever!!!

Its the BESTEST acrylic paint I've used

I have no idea why it took me so long to try it out!

I used Magenta & Iridescent violet in soft body acrylic

some foam brushes

Book Binding Tape or Book Cloth whichever you prefer

foam brushes

foam stamps

adhesive

So First I measured the book cover because I wanted to re-use

the cover of my old planner.

Let 1/2 an inch of Book Binding tape hang over each edge.

 

Then I painted the Binding tapes

one with Magenta & one with Magenta & Iridescent Violet over it

(once it dried)

Its kinda hard to see the difference between the colors in this picture

BUT you can see the difference a lot better in person.

 

I mixed a lighter pink & the iridescent violet for the flowers

 

I used the foam stamps to stamp on the book cloth that is just painted with Magenta

 

The one with iridescent & Magenta I used just a circle foam stamp with iridescent Violet again

so the pattern on it is nice and light but still visible

I have to be honest & tell you that binding with a spiral bound book

is A LOT harder for me than binding a regular book...

then again it's also my first time binding a spiral

 

You need to measure the width of your stack so that you can use it later

to reinforce the binding.

Also measure & keep some space for your cover

So that pink sheet (which is cardstock) is showing the width of

 my stack plus the width of cover on each side

 

Then Bind your stack...

(The TEAL cardstock) Keep in mind to attach 2 sheets of cardstock on the outside of your stack

this is what will be mounted of the flaps of the hard cover.

Now take your Book binding tape and leave about 1/2 inch to go over the outer edge

It should look like this

(sorry for the blurry shot)

If you want a little pen holder

cut a piece of booking binding tape &

measure the width you want your pen holder to be

Fold it length wise in thirds

 

Before you attach it to the cover

fold it over the largest part of your pen

to make sure its the size you want, so it can be easily pulled in/out.

{TIP: Its BEST to measure a pen you normally use to fit the pen holder.}

I ALWAYS use a G2 .07 .05 .038 its my FAVE!!!!!!!

I made 2 one on each side

so I could either put 2 pens or use it to "lock" the planner

 

Now I centered the pink cardstock paper I measured earlier

(thats the width of my stack) on the book binding tape

and attached the rest to the cardstock

 

Now attach the 2 covers to the cardstock part of your planner

Use adhesive & center the "teal" part of the cardstock

in the back of my cover so it hides the pen holder & the flaps from the front

this is why it was important to make sure you gave yourself about 1/2 inch to go over the edge.

*Now your planner is all bound together*

I made a little name tag to decorate the front cover

I used my Top Note SU Die

with a polka dot fabric that I adhered it to a heatNbond and sewed the edges with DC Floss :)

The IVY was cut with Blossom Grand

I used PINK binding tape BUT I also adhered it to a heatNbond

and the flowers are Quickutz Flower DooDads

Its looking CUTE but its STILL NOT finished!

what is it missing??? hmm....

I used my handy dandy Kandi professional touch applicator

to adhere some Swarovski black BLING

now its ALL done :)

DIY Planner {Part 1}

Oy Vey!

I cant tell you how HAPPY I am to be finished with this project!

It ONLY took me F-O-R-E-V-E-R

I've been in search for a 2010 planner since November

& I was just not finding what I wanted/needed

for the past couple years I've use a hard cover At-a-glance

which totally worked for what I needed at work

BUT it was not cute!

I mean I'm gonna be using this darn thing for a YEAR

it might as well be something that I liked viewing each day right?!? :)

This is when I started researching for Do-It-Yourself planner ideas

I found this great site which gave me my first initial brain storm

DIY Planner

Because what's the first thing you need when making a planner?

A Layout template for the inner planner pages!

Its a great site to find already pre made templates

or if you can figure out how to use the template generator....

BUT were talking (computer challenged) ivy here & of course it had to be more complicated than normal

So I attempted to make my own excel template instead,

which I thought would be WAY easier

(ask me if I've ever used excel to make anything before?)

.....cuz the answer is a big fat NO (lol)

so there goes my first challenge.

Luckily my hunny bunches helped me....

I mean he was probably gonna kill me by the time he was through

I only asked him to edit the excel sheet 234567890 billion times :)

BUT in the end it was exactly what I needed

I work 8:30-5:30 some days and 11:00-8:00pm other days

and I take appointments any time throughout the day

I also travel between our IL locations

So I needed the times to fit my schedule needs.

I also wanted a little notes section at the bottom

and we all know how much I love this little (squiggly { } parenthesis) :) heehee

OK so first challenge complete

Layout DONE!

Now I also have to tell you that I'm printer challenged

I didnt know I was printer challenged until I attempted to print

a whole years worth of weekly calendars back to back.

I cant even tell you how much paper I've wasted

Because for some reason that excel file needed to be changed manually month to month

I have no clue what happened there....

I'm POSITIVE there's a much SUPER di duper easier way to program it

so it will all print at once

BUT since I don't know any excel experts I dealt with what I had :)

I printed on PS Blossom & Fuschia Text weight papers

cuz PINK makes me HAPPY!

The weekly calendar is printed on Blossom

and the monthly calendar is printed on Fuschia

I found this GREAT monthly calendar PDF through tipnut.com

I really loved this matryoshka one too

tipnut also had awesome links to YEARLY calendars as well

Like this pretty Damasks one from stylish correspondence

or this LOVELY parenthesis

BUT, I decided on this LOVELY

{Because I need the calendar to be vertical}

I love the BOLD print out in Black :)

2010 Re-Org

Oh mannnnnnnnnnn

now that all the craziness of the holidays

is over with...

Its time to Re Organize!!!

Well.....it started with organizing

I took EVERYTHING from this part of the cabinet out

& replaced it with this! BUT I stopped 1/2 way cuz I'm not sure

what I feel about it.

I really need a home for my new growing collection of cricut carts

{if you guys have any tips as to how you store your carts please share!}

I'm think that I was able to put WAYYYYY more

in that space before... but this makes it look a lot neater :)

I'm still working on it.

  Cuz when I came across this Typecase I bought in OCT

and got distracted....

I decided to paint it PINK {duh! lol}....

Then I decided I wanted the inner part to be different colors

Its still not done!

That pretty much took 1/2 the day :(

I'm still working on that too

I think I might have Adult ADD  :)

Cuz then I moved on to this...

Making more Yo-Yos for necklaces :)

Heather Bailey has an awesome Yo-Yo tutorial

that everyone that wants to make yoyos should check out!

 

I had to organize these beads though {it was a crazy mess}

so that I could start stringing them with the YoYos

I'll have more pics of this project to share later

I'm saving it for the Etsy site :)

 

The last thing I organized were these inks :)

I decided to put em in these mini suit cases I got from PS

{whom BTW is having a GREAT SALE going on right now}

I know I'll have more organization things to share

because I have A  L O T of organizing to do
