Welcome Frame DIY

This is one the projects that we made at Creative Escape

 that was taught by Heidi Lynn Schreiber

Here's a pic of a frame she made with her last name

and other ones she had displayed @ her trunk show

 
 
 It looks great with a frame but our project didn't come with a frame

so yesterday I went to our local Salvation Army to look for a frame

& I found this old custom made one for $3.50

 
I cleaned it off a bit & took it outside to dry

 
I bought this awesome chalkboard spray paint

I chose chalk because I wanted a matte black finish

& I have other projects I need to use chalk paint for :)

spray the frame

 
 while I let that dry before I applied my 2nd coat

I let Abbey out for a walk...or poop :)

 
spray the frame again & let it dry over night.

So today I put it all together

 
Looks lovely on our red door :)

 the board size was 18 x 14 but I couldnt find an exact size frame

so the one I found was 18 x 16 so I just added 1"  blue strip

on the top and bottom of the chipboard black board.

Back from Creative Escape

Seriously Creative Escape was one of my MOST favorite crafting experiences

I'm so glad I had the chance to attend with my cousin Rosa

On the go post

I'm on my way to Arizona for Creative Escape!!!! I'm soooooo excited ;)
So excited that I'm even fully color coordinated for CE colors this year ha!
My mom (aka my personal seamstress) made me THE CUTEST skirt ever (it kinda makes me look like mini mouse) lol
& I painted my nails to match & the other day we made jewelry to match as well
I'm a dork lol ;)
I'll post more pics along the way ;)

Label Talk

I busted out all calligraphy supplies today

  
It's been so long since the last time I've played

I decided to create some label samples for the shop

(which really needed some new updates!)

 
Here's a new label I listed today

 

It's definitely one of my favorite label shapes :)

I used it as an envelope label for my one of my birthday party invites

(I stamped my fave heroarts cupcakes stamp)

Blinc mascara fr August Birchbox review

So, I was REALLY excited to try this

Blinc Mascara in my Aug. Birchbox!!!

 
I'm always looking for new mascara

I have "asian" eyelashes,

they are thin, stick straight & they point down! (blah)

 

What I always look for in a mascara is

 LOTS of VOLUME & for it to add length

So, the picture above are my lashes without any product.

The first thing I do is curl my lashes a little bit

(I use & swear by the shu uemera eye lash curler)

 
If I don't do this, when I put mascara on 

& I blink I get mascara all over my lower lid.

After I curl I always apply some primer. I really like this Estee Primer.

 
This is how the blinc brush looks like

I applied a couple coats of mascara

Here's how they look on

 
Overall I do agree to their claim of no smudge,smear or run

(I had to scrub pretty hard to get them off even w/ makeup remover)

If you already have amazing lashes this is a great mascara

to just quickly apply & you dont have to worry about it for the rest of the day.

For my type of lash on the other hand....

This would not be my 1st choice.

It does not add any volume & the primer is mostly what added the length.

I do think it helps define the lashes, but it's a little stiff.

It's not perfect but it does add volume & length

I'm actually in the market for new mascara though,

I've been in search for these fairy drops at a store by me :(

This Happy Birthday stamp from SU is my favorite!!!!

I don't have any planned posts I will try to post while on the road

but I'm off (again)..... to TEXAS!!!

I'm not sure I'm ready for the 100 degrees weather

good thing I'm gonna be a stone throw away from a pool :)

SMASHing in my SMASHBOOK

I wanted to share a few pages I've started on my SMASHbook so far

I'm really lovin the "freedom" to put stuff

 I want to keep but normally would throw out in this book!

I'm making this page my "Bucket List" of places to visit :)

This is my "LIKE" page is specific to the Anthro & Free People catalog

I go through the Catalog & cut out the pieces i like before I toss it!

(lots of shoes! LOVE shoes)

 
I brought my smashbook with me to Canada & I collected some stuff

throughout our way so this is my page so far

 
I used one of the pages in my Smash pad as a journaling spot

I  have a few sets of SMASH pads in Travel, Word of mouth & Entertainment 

available @ the ivyPINK shop
