Halloween Boo Garland & Blitsy

A couple weeks ago I shared this sneak peek pic on Instagram (@ivyPINK)

that I was at the BLITSY headquarters working on a special project.

Baptism

Our love was baptized this past weekend

he was such a good boy & didn't cry or get fussy at all (phew!)

I just wanted to share some of the DIY things I made for his reception

Here is his Christening invitation

I used this spell binders die for the cross & I loved the embossed detail

the layers came out really nice but it was a pain to put pop up tape for each individual layer.

I also needed a table seating chart I found this board at Hobby Lobby for 90% off DEAL!!!!

I just repainted the design using acrylic paint & a sharpie metallic marker & Voila!

I was going to draw on the "chalk board" part of the board

BUT I tried 3 different types of chalk markers & real chalk & nothing would write on the board!

So, I did the next best thing & just cut it out on my cricut.

I liked how it turned out but I wish I could've drawn on it.

I didn't make his cake hahahhaha I don't have time for that LOL

for his centerpieces & table numbers I just bought a bunch of white flowers & arranged it myself

I bought some colored mason jars fr Michaels

& just cut out table numbers & embossed it to match his invitations

I also needed to decorate his christening bib

I wanted something classic so I just bought silver iron on vinyl

and made this simple design

That is pretty much everything I made for his baptism.

It is so hard to craft with this little guy!

I definitely take advantage when its nap time

he is so much more active these days :)

1 Month Milestone

My little lovebug is 1 MONTH already?!?
That was fast!
I wanted to make him a chalkboard monthly milestone so I worked on it while he napped.

I bought the chalkboard at Hobby Lobby they had a 50% sale

so I got it for only $3.99 & just painted the edge white.
I used Marvy Uchidas Bistro markers as well as regular chalk to decorate the board.

As for his outfit I wanted him to wear suspenders I searched EVERY store that carried childrens clothing by my house & nada! This onesie from Target was the best I could find so I just sewed him a matching bow tie instead.

Voila first month milestone pic! ;)

I also bought him cake but he was too passed out to eat it lololol
So mommy & daddy ate it instead lol ;)

Hello crafty friends!

Why yes I'm still alive & yes I still craft!

I just wanted to quickly wish you all a very Merry Holiday season

The next few days will be hectic & I know I'll forget to post.

I made these super easy peasy cute

Reindeer chocolate bar toppers for my co workers.

using some circle punches & this die from spellbinders for the antlers

I really loved this snowman one too

but those fleece hats looks time consuming LOL

No crafty X-Mas card for this girl this year :( *FAIL*

Lifes just been so crazy lately.

I hope my friends & family can forgive me :)

DIY Marquee Lights

This is my first post about the DIY's the fiance & made I for our engagment party :)

First you'll need some paper mâché letters I found mine at Joanns

You'll need to cut out the front part of the letters

we just used an exacto

It should look like this when you are finished.

If you have any ripped edges or you'd like to even out an edge

just use a masking tape to smooth it out before you spray paint.

Next, space out where you want your lights to go

and use a hand drill to make your holes.

Here's a sample of what it looks like with the bulbs in place.

BTW, we bought the string lights at Target

Next spray paint your letters, we used a white base for ours

spray paint 2-3 coats & let it dry.

Once it's dried spray it with Krylons GLITTERBLAST

 (LOVE LOVE the Glitterblast!)  

Now add the bulbs & light up your Marquee Lights!!!! 

Ta-Da!

Engagement Party

 

I'm sorry I've been MIA :(

For the past month,

 I've been prepping for our engagement party which was this weekend

We had a lot of DIY projects....here's just some of them

I plan to post how to's & deets throughout the upcoming weeks :)

 

We had an outside tent party,

thank goodness we had GREAT weather this weekend

living in chicago you just never know what kind of weather it'll be.

 

Thank You so much to all of our friends & family who attended

we had such a wonderful time & we hope you did too!

Make it Monday

Hola! Happy MONDAY :)

I wanted to share a quick DIY I made today

I wanted to add some bling to my watch to add a little bit of interest

I really dont know what I would do without my beadazzler LOL

All you need are some Swarovski hotfix crystals and a watch

My watch is a La Mer watch from Target

I randomly adhered 3 different size crystals on the band :)

and Ta-Da! :)

Easy peasy Super cutie!

I plan on making another one using these Hot fix "nail heads"
I didn't have enough to do a whole band so I have to buy more.

DIY Damask Cabinet

Yesterday I was looking at the target ad

& spotted this cabinet on sale for $34

I've actually been in search of something

I can use for storage in my small bathroom

& this fit perfectly in the tiny space I had in mind.

 

While strolling the aisles of Target I also spotted

a damask print contact paper

Since I'm putting this cabinet in the bathroom

I thought it would be a good idea to line the shelves

& also give it some color & design.

 

Lining the shelves was super easy

pretty much I took the piece I wanted to line

measured the contact paper to size

I cut the contact paper about 1/4 inch larger than the

panel I was covering

Then when I applied the contact paper I started at a corner

and peeled & smoothed it out as I covered

and then trimmed the edges with an exacto knife when I finished.

I also covered the back panel of the cabinet

here's what it looked like without the shelves on top

and here's what it looks like with the shelves

and a couple black plastic baskets I also found at Target for $6 each

The toiletries bin I've had forever, I bought it at a scrapbooking show

I use it to hold some hair stuff, headbands & clips

I also added a lipstick holder to the top shelf

I used the box that the lipstick holder came in to add height

& covered it with the contact paper

Overall I'm really happy with how my cabinet 

turned out & how inexpensive this project was :)

Now, I'm in search for a cute knob

maybe you guys can help me decide which one I should get

I'm deciding between

Knob 2

or Knob 3

DIY Coffee GC holder

I LOVE this Coffee Keeper stamp from Art Impressions

I made a step by step guide how to create a quick

gift card holder using this stamp

But first you'll need 3 pieces of paper cut in to these sizes

1 white cardstock in 6" x 3.50" and scored at 1"

 brown cardstock 5" x 3.50"

and another brown piece cut by 1" x 3.50"

just put that aside for now... :)

1. Stamp the cup (or just the lid) on a piece of white cardstock

2. Stamp the cup on a piece of patterned paper

3. Cut out just the cup part from the patterned paper

4. Stamp the sentiment/"cozy" on green cardstock

5. Cut out the sentiment & adhered on top of the patterned paper

6. Now you can adhere the cut out piece on top of your

brown 5" x 3.5" piece. Use your white card as a guide as to where

to place your card so when the 1" piece is folded the lid will line up.

6. Use an exacto knife and cut right above the end of your cup

(this is where you'll insert your gift card)

7. Run adhesive on the white piece of cardstock with your stamped lid

and cut it out

8. adhere the brown 1" x 3.50" on top of the 1" white  cardstock 

9. Adhere the lid on the brown cardstock lining it up with your cup

10. Insert your gift card and embellish :)

I just added a ribbon, some dew drops, and shaded the lid on my card

 Voila! the cutest lil gc holder :)

Wouldn't this be a fab surprise if you are giving a coffee gift card?!?!

Make n Takes fr. CHA

I just wanted to share some of my Favorite Make n Takes from the CHA show with you guys ;)

I've used this bag a bunch of times already that's why it looks a Lil dirty
This bag was from the Plaid booth they released a brand new Martha Stewart Crafts multi surface acrylic paint and also some Stencils & brushes ;)
This was so easy to make! Pretty much you just stippled the brushes with paint over the stencil & the paints are very pretty colors! I haven't unpacked yet but when I find the paints we got as samples I'll create something with it & share it w/ you guys ;) I loved all the colors & some of them are glittery & shimmery pretty much I'd like to collect them all ;) lol

This might be my most favorite make n take EVER actually it's a badge holder made with crystal beads but I'm actually thinking of taking it apart so I can create a necklace and/or matching bracelet I think I'll get more use of it in comparison to the badge holder. Although I did LOVE having a blingy badge holder ;) I do NOT know why I cannot remember this lady's booth name!

Then over at Westcott, they had super fun make n takes like 4 of them going on all at the same time! ;)
I made this Velcro wallet (totally using it for my coupons lol) made out of 8 1/2 x 11 sheets of.....DUCT TAPE! How cool is that?!?! :) we also used regular duct tapes to make the pleats such a fun teen party favor craft & it only took less than 10 min to create ;)

Last one is this pretty fab journaling/photo insert pocket thing-of-a-jig fr. Heidi Swapps new line! ;) I love the super adorbs sequined heart & mini neon tapes ;)

I'm so glad Heidi's back I've always been a fan of hers ;)
